Batman will swoop into Gotham City once again to face a new threat as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment releases "Batman: Arkham Knight" for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on June 2, 2015.

Without the Joker's chaotic presence following his death in 2011's "Batman: Arkham City", Batman struggles to accept and resign himself to his archenemy's absence and the uncomfortable feeling that he and the Joker than either could admit, Game Informer reported.  The citizens of Gotham have never felt any safer, and there stability comes with the dramatic decline in crime in the city.

But it ain't over till the fat lady sings. Bruce Wayne once more dons the Batsuit as he comes into conflict with the Scarecrow, Penguin, Two-Face, Harley Quinn and the Riddler as they seek to fill the void the Joker left, uniting in one common purpose - kill Batman once and for all.

The Dark Knight, however, will not only have to deal with former adversaries, he'll have to confront a new enemy. "Arkham Knight" does not refer to the Batman persona itself, but rather the name of the new villain, a character created specifically for the game, according to CVG, by developer Rocksteady, DC Comics Chief Creative Officer (CCO) and comic book writer, Geoff Johns and DC Comics co-publisher, and comic book artist Jim Lee.

"We wanted to introduce someone who could really challenge Batman, to go head-to-head with him in lots of different ways," Game Director Sefton Hill told Game Informer in an interview(via Eurogamer). "... this guy is definitely a formidable foe for Batman."

Arkham Knight, as described by Game Informer (via IGN), "is a militarized version of Batman, with the "A" logo of the Arkham Asylum facility worn as an emblem on his chest."

"Batman: Arkham Knight" is successor to 2013's prequel game "Batman: Arkham Origins", but its main storyline will follow up one year after the events of 2011's "Batman: Arkham City". It is the fourth main game and final installment of the "Batman:Arkham" series.
