"Final Fantasy XV" PS4 demo is expected in early 2015, while the full game is still being finished. Right now, it is only halfway done, but director Hajime Tabata already promises four hours of gameplay from the demo.

According to IGN, the demo of the "Final Fantasy XV" game will come alongside "Final Fantasy Type-0" to be released in early 2015. However, the full game does not have a confirmed release date yet. Meanwhile, fans are being treated to footages of the gameplay. A demo is also on its way.

Square Enix continues to tease about "Final Fantasy XV" by releasing footage of the "real-time combat system" with Noctis, the only playable character so far, being shown in the battlefield.

Director Hajime Tabata also mentioned in the TGS 2014 that the game development is already 55 complete, with the demo being about 80 percent completed already. This demo can be expected for a PS4 release soon, which will have one hour of total gameplay through the story campaign, and with additional hours courtesy of the world map, dungeons, and other obstacles, bringing it in to a total of 3-4 hours of gameplay.

Even before the demo's 2015 release, it has already garnered attention not only because it is part of a successful series of games, but also because of a gender bias issue addressed recently by Tabata. According to Ecumenical News, the game is receiving criticisms because of its "all-male cast." However, according to Tabata, the all men ensemble is an important element that former director Tetsuya Nomura had wanted to preserve. "He wanted to depict a story in which a group of men, a group of friends, journey throughout the world. So that's something that I kept in Final Fantasy XV," IGN quotes Tabata explaining.

Previous "Final Fantasy" games have had male and female playable characters, shares IGN. As for "Final Fantasy XV," Tabata promises that there will be "prominent women who make an appearance in the game."

While the game has been receiving bad comments about its lack of a playable female character, it has also been the subject of plenty of memes recently. Polygon says that producer Shinji Hashimoto "isn't too keen" on the memes, but that Tabata is, and is actually encouraging more of them. To do that, high-quality assets has been released by Square Enix to help design "silly scenes."
