Until early 2013, T-Mobile customers were complaining about its disappointing coverage and slow data speeds. But after spending almost one year launching a brand-new nationwide 4G LTE network, coverage has increased tremendously. It now boasts of having the fastest 4G LTE speed in the United States.

Compared to other mobile phone providers, T-Mobile has the cheapest in the country. If you want a plan with unlimited minutes, text, and 2.5GB of high speed data, you'll pay $60 a month as compared to other carriers. Over the years, the company has offered a wide range of mobile phones from iPhone to the classic flip phones. Here we will look at the Top 5 Best T-Mobile Cell Phones 2014 based on a review conducted by Digital Trends.

The G2 is LG's flagship phone for this year. One of the Top 5 Best T-Mobile Cell Phones 2014, it features 4G connectivity, a high resolution camera, HD video recording capability, and an external storage. It runs on Android 4.2.2 and is known for having the best battery life. One of its major drawbacks is that it does not offer MicroSD support.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Active

There will be no more fingerprint reader in the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. Taking its place are tactile buttons and a solid plastic shell. The Galaxy S5 Active runs on Android 4.4 and has a long battery life. With a front facing camera, external storage, and 4G connectivity, the lack of fingerprint reader is one of its major disadvantages.

Apple iPhone 5S

The upgrade to the iPhone 5S of 2013, this year's phone is packed with features that will surely blow away the competition. As one of the Top 5 Best T-Mobile Phones 2014, the new iPhone 5S runs on iOS 7 and on the first ever 64-bit processor. While it comes with a front-facing camera, has 4G connectivity, HD video recording capacity, its aluminum shell is prone to dings and only has 16GB storage on $200.

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact

For people who are looking for a small but powerful smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is the best phone on the market. Utilizing T-Mobile's 4G connectivity, the Xperia Z1 is also waterproof and dustproof. It features a high resolution camera, microSD support, and has a speedy performance. However, some features that may turn off smartphone users is the lack of fingerprint and dust magnet and its big bezels above and below the screen.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport

Like its predecessor the Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport is equally powerful. It comes with a colorful tactile exterior, a microSD slot, and a proprietary Touchwiz skin. Among its drawbacks include the lack of fingerprint or heart rate readers and its less rugged design compared to the S5 Active.
