Two of the most anticipated flagship smartphones expected to be released later this year are Samsung's phablet, the Galaxy Note 4, and Apple's iPhone 6, which will reportedly come in two sizes, the 4.7-inch variant and the phablet-sized 5.5-inch. The phablet version is poised to challenge Samsung's latest model from its Galaxy Note line as the South Korean tech giant is set to debut the gadget this fall: the Galaxy Note 4. 

Samsung has seen tremendous success in its Galaxy Note line, and the Note 4 is expected by many to be their most powerful release thus far. The iPhone 6, on the other hand, is said to be Apple's way of changing the way they approach smartphones in general. Both devices are expected to make their official debut at around the same time this coming September. 

Although there have been no official announcements yet, people have been pitting these two handsets on paper already. Comparisons of their reported features are all over the Internet. Have a look at the comparisons of some of the most outstanding reported features these two phablets have. 

External Features 

Aesthetically, the iPhone 6 is reported to have a different look and feel to it, while the Note 4 will have a more updated but similar look to its Note predecessors. The phablet-sized iPhone 6, which is reported to be released later ahead of its 4.7-inch counterpart, is said to feature more metal, ditching the glass back that was found in its predecessors, according to PC Advisor. It is also said to feature more rounded edges, a streamlined volume rocker, and a scratch-resistant Sapphire glass 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1704 x 960 px and a pixel density of 416 ppi. 

The Note 4, on the other hand, is reported to be made of water- and dust-proof metal. The screen stays steady at 5.7 inches, same as the Note 3, but with higher resolution and pixel density. According to BGR, an AnTuTu leak claims it has a qHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 px, with pixel density of 534 ppi. Its back will reportedly remain plastic, and the screen, although more powerful than iPhone's alleged specs, is still made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. 

Under the Hood 

It's Apple's A8 chip versus two reported versions of the Note 4. Apple's A8 chip will be faster at 2.0GHz compared to the 1.3GHz of the A7, according to Computer World. One version is said to carry an Exynos 5433 octa-core processor, while the other version is said to carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805. Reports lean towards the Exynos 5433 for Note 4, but users won't find out until Samsung makes an official announcement. 

The iPhone 6 is also rumored to run on the highly-anticipated iOS 8. The Note 4, on the other hand, is said to come with Android KitKat 4.4.4, although it is unclear whether it will receive the Android L update, which is due to come out later this year. The 4.4.4 is good news to many users though, because Samsung has been behind with updates, with many of their flagships only receiving the 4.4.2 update a few months ago. 

The iPhone 6 is expected to maintain the same RAM offering as its most recent predecessor. Its internal memory offerings that have been reported appear to vary, with 16, 32, 64 and 128 GB models said to be in the works. The Note 4, on the other hand, is reported to have 3-4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory, which is expandable to 128 GB with microSD. 

Camera / Imaging 

The iPhone 6 isn't expected to have a powerful camera. Some reports say it will retain the 8 MP camera the iPhone 5S has, but other reports suggested it will feature a 10 MP camera with an LED flash, an aperture size of F2.0, and a camera sensor size of 1 / 2.6". It will reportedly have a front-facing camera with a 2.1 MP resolution. The Note 4, on the other hand, is said to have a 15.8 MP camera with an LED flash, 1080 px HD camcording capabilities, and a 2 MP front-facing camera. 

It's a close fight between the two devices if the reported and leaked specs are to be believed. One thing is certain: If the announcements in September would push through, tech enthusiasts and people needing a new smartphone alike will have an exciting fall once these devices are officially announced and the gadgets released in the market.
