Has Bethesda given up on "Fallout 4?"

That's what the buzz is recently. According to The Fuze Joplin, Bethesda may actually have abandoned development on the long-awaited sequel to "Fallout 3" and "Fallout: New Vegas." According to their sources, a new development company named Battle Studios is now in charge of the game.

If this is the case, it could be beneficial, because Bethesda has taken quite a while to put out the next "Fallout", and a different developer with less on their plate would certainly get us to "Fallout 4" much faster than our current pace.

However, a report from KpopStarz has a notably different piece of information, saying that Bethesda has actually been working on the game in secret for quite a while now, after the release of the last piece of DLC for their last game, "The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim."

According to the piece, the fourth game in the series will feature a brand new character for the franchise, which is notable for letting the player create their own protagonist almost entirely from scratch. And if that's the case for "Fallout 4," who exactly will this character be?

It's not quite clear. But what is clear is that Bethesda is putting in as much effort as they can into the next "Fallout."

Here's what Bethesda told Cinema Blend:

"Parts of our team have also been in pre-production on our next major project, and that game is at the point where it requires the studio's full attention to make it our biggest and best work yet.

As well, Pete Hines, vice president of PR for the company, also mentioned this extra information:

"This is not something we're going to do once and then go away and never do it again. When that will be or how long that will be god only knows, but we acquired it specifically because we wanted to own it and develop it and work on it like we do with The Elder Scrolls."

Check back soon as we find out more details on the upcoming "Fallout 4."
