It has been confirmed that "X-Men: Days of the Future Past" star Michael Fassbender will be part of the cast for the upcoming Assassin's Creed Movie.

In an interview, Fassbender expressed his excitement in starring in the movie. He said he likes the idea and concept of the game.

"'Assassin's,' I'm so happy with," he said. "I can't say anything more, but for a video game, the concept behind it, this idea of DNA memory, it is so interesting." In a previous interview, Fassbender said, "I met up with the guys from Ubisoft and they told me the story behind it, and I thought it was very interesting - the idea of reliving memories.

Fassbender played the Young Magneto in "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

Slated to be released on August 2015, there is no final announcement as to who will direct the movie adaptation of the famous video game. There are rumors, however, that Justin Kurzel will be directing the film.

Bill Collage and Adam Cooper, who are behind the script of "Exodus: Gods & Kings," will be rewriting the movie, reports Deadline.com.

Rumors suggest that the movie plot may be based on the story line of the games Black Flag and Unity.

The upcoming version of the game, Assassin's Creed 5: Unity, is slated for a double release. A normal Assassin's Creed game will be released for PS3 and Xbox 360, while another will be released for next generation consoles of PS4 and Xbox One.

According to reports, the game is set in the French Revolution and will be released November this year. The game can be played with a four player co-op.

Fans of the game have been very excited about the release of the new game's version as well as the upcoming movie.
