Radio Taxi, aka Taxio, officially launched last night by the State Transport Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan in Fort Kochi, India.

The 7 member team startup was founded earlier this year in January. The cab operates with a GPRS where people can book from dialing 4440444 or through their online services. The GPRS will automatically locate the nearest cab connected to a satellite from their control centre at Panampilly Nagar. This will permit cabs to arrive at pick location within 10-15 mins of booking notes Vijay Nair, their managing director.

Plans are underway to make a app to book cabs. They currently tout 75 cars with 25 to added shortly.

The names behind the startup include Vijay Nair, Anjana Balachandran, Sandeep Bhaskar, Adarsh Unnithan, Peethambaran, Suresh and Naufal.
