Microsoft Ventures in India has set up a toll-free hotline that entrepreneurs can call to inquire about accounting, taxation, legal, and technical business issues. The Microsoft-trained initiative called JumpStart, is the first startup hotline in the whole world, according to The Times of India (TOI).

Kattayil Rajinish Menon, director of Microsoft Ventures in India, described the aim of the project: "Sometimes answering even simple questions about how to get started or which service provider to contact can really help startups avoid delays and cost overruns. While JumpStart cannot promise the success of a startup's business, it can definitely help by educating entrepreneurs how to get started quickly by providing information on the vast resources available today."

The four-person team of JumpStart will entertain calls within 48 hours made to the toll-free number 1(800) 200-2114. All entrepreneurs can make calls within office hours within weekdays only. As of now, services are available in Hindi and English, the report detailed.

To address queries properly, Microsoft has teamed up with district pointpersons in the legal, accounting, and finance sectors. Entrepreneurs can also use the MobileOne Platform governance system to access the service, TOI reported.
