American media asset manager Dalet inks deal to acquire British video firm AmberFin

Dalet Digital Media Systems has entered a deal with Advent Venture Partners to purchase British TV broadcast software provider AmberFin. The value of the acquisition deal was not disclosed, according to Broadcasting & Cable.

Dalet Chief Executive Officer (CEO) David Lasry said of the transaction: "This acquisition allows us to offer the industry the most advanced level of workflow options. AmberFin has been at the forefront in mastering media, including transcoding and video quality control. The company has spearheaded many widely adopted industry standards such as MXF and AS-02. Its talent and expertise directly complement Dalet's strengths in enterprise MAM-driven solutions."

Under the terms of the said deal, Dalet will continue developing AmberFin's products. In addition, AmberFin CEO Jeremy Deaner will drop his position but will help facilitate the acquisition for some time, the report detailed.

The addition of the UK-based AmberFin will allow Dalet to expand its product portfolio, Broadcasting & Cable reported.
