Materialise NV is a 3D printing software company in Belgium. The company provides software to medical and industrial equipment manufacturers. On Wednesday, the software maker filed for initial public offering of American Depository Shares with US regulators said a report from Reuters.

In the filing, Materialise indicated that the software firm has already provided more than 8000 printing licenses to more than 4000 clients. Materialise clients include US-based Boeing Co. and Ford Motor Co.

Although 3D printing technology has been in the industry for more than 25 years, it has only recently that it had caught the attention of customers and investors alike. 3D printing technology enables solid objects to be transformed into digital models, continued the Reuters report.

Materialise expected to get around USD125 million from the IPO although the initial public offering size may not be the same. In 2013, the software maker’s revenue increased by 16% to EUR68.7 million.
