Torrent site YTS has picked up and revived Popcorn Time, the new streaming app for pirated movies which was just shut down shortly after it was launched, according to TechCrunch.

Jduncanator, the developer of YTS, told TorrenFreak: "It's as if we have built another interface to our website. We are no worse off managing the project than we would be just supplying the movies. It's our vision at YTS that we see through projects like these and that just because they create a little stir in the public, it doesn't mean they are shut down."

According to VentureBeat, Popcorn Time just popped out a week ago and offered an easier version of torrent movie downloading. Users only had to download the free app and search for a movie that they want to stream. Most of the movies are in HD quality. This, however, is still tantamount to manual download of torrents, the report detailed.

Yesterday, Popcorn Time developers announced that the app would be shut down. But now, it is already up on GitHub. In addition, YTS is working on making the app compatible with its own database. Fans just have to wait for YTS to release a Popcorn Time installer soon, VentureBeat reported.
