Furniture supplier CORT Business Services has purchased Washington party supplier AA Party Rentals as part of its efforts to expand its services. The financial terms of the acquisition deal were not disclosed, according to Washington Post.

CORT Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jeff Pederson said: "We're looking to marry the party business with our event and trade show business. Our business is tied quite closely to the economy."

Under the terms of the transaction, AA Party Rentals will be integrated into CORT's Seattle-based services Special Event Rentals as well as with CORT Events. However, AA Party Rentals will still operate as an entity separate from CORT, according to Puget Sound Business Journal.

AA Party Rentals has been running for forty years and is co-owned by Greg Helle and Nancy Shaw. The company supplies tents, canopies, tables, chairs, linens, tableware, and other party materials to its clients, the report detailed.

Founded in 1972, CORT is a company that rents furniture to customers from various sectors such as business, home, and events. It also provides relocation services, Washington Post reported.
