Alfred Mann Foundation launches medical device startup in Minnesota

The Alfred Mann Foundation (AMF) has launched a life sciences startup in the Twin Cities called Medallion Therapeutics. The startup will be headed by Don Deyo from Medtronic Inc, according to Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

Jewish Business News cited AMF chief David Hankin saying: "Don Deyo, Eric Harris as well as the group of AMF research and development professionals who will be joining Medallion Therapeutics go to make up a world class team that will very well equipped to bring this innovative solution to patients around the globe."

The new startup's  is developing an implantable infusion pump that administers medication to people suffering from diabetes and neurodegenerative disorders, the report detailed.

According to Jewish Business News, Medallion is based in Minneapolis-St. Paul in Minnesota. Scientists employed by AMF researched for more than a decade to come up with this system. Its infusion pump is currently undergoing clinical trials, the report stated.
