Modernmeal wants to help American families serve good meals at home. The startup has built a social networking site that allows users to create and share their own catalogue of home recipes, according to Orlando Business Journal.

The thing that sets Modernmeal apart from its rivals is its feature that lets users take home the grocery list they posted several weeks after the site launches. For a minimum price of $12.99, meal planners can have the ingredients delivered to their doorstep. Although grocery chains already have home delivery services, most of them don't have the social media and meal planning factors that Modernmeal has, the report detailed.

Founder Mark Hudgins said: "Grocery chains will have to react. They don't have the tech infrastructure to perfect the model the same way as AmazonFresh or Instacart."

Modernmeal's headquarters is currently situated in Chuluota, Florida. The startup launched a beta version of its social media site last November. In a couple of weeks, it will conduct a full launch for the site. At present, the company is bootstrapped, but it plans to begin a funding round soon, Orlando Business Journal reported.
