After existing solely on the web for a very long time, artist community and e-commerce firm Threadless has launched an iOS app to bring its on-demand T-shirt and hoodies to the mobile world, according to TechCrunch.

Threadless works by allowing its users to submit their designs and conducting a poll among potential buyers. The best designs are shortlisted for production and online sale. However, the service was confined to the web until recently. The company has launched an iPhone app which was developed by Prolific Interactive. This is its first foray into mobile, the report explained.

The new mobile shop has a catalogue of the available products and shirt designs. Users can choose a size and add it to the shopping cart from their screen. The app also has a feature which lets Threadless know the kind of designs that customers would like to purchase in the future, the report detailed.

According to founder Jake Nickell, the company is also set to release another app called Type Tees soon. This app allows Threadless clients to produce their own customized shirts, TechCrunch reported.
