David Beckham has reportedly sought assistance from the wealthy owners of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to fund his new sports venture. The sports star plans to establish a new Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise in Miami, Florida, according to Goal.

Beckham retired from PSG in May last year. Just a week ago, he disclosed that he wanted to establish an MLS team in Miami. However, he would like to ask for funding from Qatar Sports Investment (QSI). The organization has poured in large investments into the French Football League, Ligue 1 outfit, since it picked up a 70% interest in the club in 2011, the report detailed.

This venture is part of the provisions in his 2007 LA Galaxy contract, which allowed him to establish a soccer club for $25 million (£15.2m), the report added.

At present, MLS has 19 registered clubs and will add a couple more by 2015 in New York City and Orlando City. It is not yet known when Beckham's Miami franchise will become part of the league, Goal reported.
