Quad/Graphics Inc announced on Wednesday that it has acquired East Coast printer UniGraphic Inc as part of its expansion efforts. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, according to Journal Sentinel.

UniGraphic is a family-owned printing business that operates near Boston and Manhattan. The company currently employs around 190 people in its two plants.  The firm prints conventional publications for advertisers and publishers. It also prints marketing materials such as signage and banners for retail outlets, the report detailed.

Quad is North America's second-biggest commercial printing firm. The company employs 25,000 workers internationally with 6,000 of them based in Wisconsin, the report added.

Based in Sussex, Quad has seen an aggressive expansion since 2010. At that time, the firm purchased Canadian competitor World Color Press. The acquisition turned Quad into the biggest magazine printer in North America. It also made the company the largest catalog and retail inserts printer, Journal Sentinel reported.
