JDS Uniphase buys Colorado-based software firm Trendium

JDS Uniphase Corp (JDSU) announced that it has purchased Trendium, a company that provides real-time intelligence software solutions for asset expansion, customer experience assurance (CEA), income generation from 4G/LTE mobile network operators. The financial terms of the acquisition deal were not disclosed, according to NASDAQ.

The Trendium takeover will help JDSU gather and study information in a more convenient and faster way. In addition, the company has secured a $10-million contract from a mobile operator with the help of the technological expertise acquired from the transaction, the report detailed.

Recently, JDSU also purchased private firm Network Instruments, a global company that develops enterprise solutions. The acquisition of both Trencium and Network Instruments are expected to boost JSDU's foothold in the enterprise, cloud networking, and data center industries. The firm had also made several acquisitions last year, the report said.

JDSU posted strong results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2014. In addition, the firm's management posted a healthy revenue outlook for the upcoming third quarter of 2014, NASDAQ reported.
