London-based co-working space Rainmaking Loft announced today that it is conquering Berlin. This marks the company's first expansion project, according to VentureBeat.

Scheuled to open on February 27, Rainmaking Loft's new office will be located in a former art gallery adjacent to Checkpoint Charlie. The 1,000-square-meter office is in the original headquarters of accelerator Startupbootcamp. The firm will be opening a total of 80 desks for startups. The space includes a cafe, bar, and an events area, the report detailed.

The loft wants to create a link between the tech ecosystems of Berlin and London. Members of the co-working space are given access to the events and resources in both places. Visiting founders are given "hotdesks" in both locations. In addition, the Berlin office offers a mezzanine transient rental area called "Angels in Residence" for founders in town, the report explained.

Alex Farcet, the managing director of Startupbootcamp, said: "We started our presence in Berlin in 2012 with the launch of Startupbootcamp Berlin and moved into a beautiful former gallery space near Checkpoint Charlie in June 2013. That space has now grown into one of the coolest and most startup-friendly spots in Berlin, and we're super proud to join forces under the Rainmaking Loft brand."
