Today, photo sharing website Pinterest released its "Interests" page to show that the firm is interested in creating tools to know its users better, according to VentureBeat.

At present, Pinterest helps users find new pins based on their friends' interests. Now, the site is working to bring its users pins that they actually like. Take, for example, travel. If a user likes to travel, he can go the the Travel category. The Interests page is designed to recognize the specific place where the user wants to travel. So, the page will serve up pins that are related to that place and to other areas in the Interests page, the report explained.

The San Francisco-based company wants to expand its website and data knowledge by linking its users to new features of the service. Just recently, Pinterest launched an updated search capability for the Food category, which is the most popular category in the site. The recipe finder helps users look for specific ingredients and provides them with a recipe, the report detailed.

According to Pinterest, it is still learning about its community members through their pins, VentureBeat reported.
