Chinese glass firm Fuyao to invest $200M in GM's former plant in Ohio

Fuyao Glass Industry Co will invest $200 million to establish a manufacturing facility at the former assembly plant of General Motors (GM) in Ohio. Fuyao is the largest automotive glass supplier in China, according to Reuters.

Based on a statement from the office of the Ohio governor, Fuyao Glass will produce 800 jobs at the plant at Moraine, Ohio over three years. Production at the facility will begin by the end of 2015, the report detailed.

The statement also said the investment will be the biggest ever made by a China-based firm in Ohio, the report stated.

Founded in Fuzhou in 1987, Fuyao Group is a joint venture corporation that specialized in the production of industrial technological glass and automotive safety glass. The group presently employs more than 10,000 workers. Fuyao is a transnational company that operates in America, Korea, Russia, Japan, Australia, West Europe, East Europe, Germany, and other countries, according to its company web profile.
