French unions have called on Deutsche Lufthansa AG workers at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris to strike from Friday morning to Sunday evening in a dispute over outsourcing ground operations.

According to Reuters, the strike call came a week after Lufthansa was forced to cancel four flights because most of its workers in Paris called in sick. The said workers are protesting against plans to outsource ground operations at the airport to a third-party provider.

National Union of Autonomous Trade Unions (UNSA) said the move would threaten 199 jobs. UNSA represents Lufthansa staff in France, the report said.

French Democratic Confederation of Labor (CFDT), French Confederation of Christian Workers (CFTC), French Confederation of Management-General Confederation of Executives (CFE-CGC) and UNSA in a joint statement said Lufthansa's management had remained deaf over the demands of the labor unions. 84% of Lufthansa's staff in France have already declared to go on strike, the statement said.
