Germany-based startup Excursiopedia has acquired Russia-based Travelatus. The merger aims to create a leader in the international travel industry, according to VentureBeat.

Excursiopedia is a curated marketplace for activities and events in 1,200 cities worldwide. The site allows travelers to search for destinations and receive a list of available activities including bus tours, dinner, and dancing shows. Every listing contains descriptions, reviews, pricing, ratings, and booking options, the report explained.

Travelatus provides service for people planning trips related to music and sporting events. Users can use the site to search for events, hotels, transportations, and receive recommendations. For example, if a user wants to watch a concert in Copenhagen, Travelatus provides a one-stop shop for booking of concert tickets, flights, and hotels, the report said.

Under the terms of the acquisition deal, the three-member Travelatus team will join Excursiopedia to muscle its way into this difficult market. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, VentureBeat reported.
