Travel and holiday attraction booking startup, GetYourGuide, whose platform streamlines the booking of vacation excursions, now has over 210,000 users in Europe. It was only launched last month to European mobile users, and seems to be in great form. They are now pushing into the U.S market. Its main competition is Viator which already has its mobile app available in U.S. market.

GetYourGuide collects and categorizes all the world's best places so that travelers need to research less and do more.  They cover different activites in nearly every corner of the globe. With its global network of activity suppliers, companies then upload their products and services and in turn, receive and manage their bookings and payments through a simple centralized system. All that the traveler has to do is to select the best activities that fits their budget and intenerary.

"Since the launch of our GetYourGuide website in the U.S., we have seen tremendous adoption from the American market," said Johannes Reck, CEO of GetYourGuide, in a statement. "The launch of our Android and iOS apps is the next step in expanding our U.S. footprint."

Its global network includes TripAdvisor and Thomas Cook.de and currently holds offices in Berlin, Las Vegas and Zurich. Earlier this year, they were able to secure USD 14 million in Series A via Spark Capital and Highland Partners Europe on top of its USD 2 million seed round early in 2012.
