Email optimization startup ToutApp has just picked up $3.35 million in funding from Sigma West Ventures. The new capital will be used for the expansion of the team's product and workforce, according to VentureBeat.

Acording to a document filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the latest round brings the startup's total funding to $5.2 million. This amount includes seed funding from 500 Startups and Founders Collective, the report said.

Tawheed "TK Kader, ToutApp's founder and chief executive, said much of the new funding will go toward hiring sales and marketing employees. The new team members will work to expand the firm's user base, the report explained.

Founded in 2010, ToutApp allows clients to draft emails using time-saving features. These features include scheduling, templates, and possible meeting times from calendars. These functions can be seen on the Salesforce website. Salesforce data can be integrated into the templates that users create. After emails are sent out, ToutApp users can monitor the activities of recipients and can decide on the follow-ups, the report detailed.

Kader said ToutApp's ultimate goal is to empower salespeople to close transactions more quickly. The new funding will bring the company a step closer to that goal, VentureBeat reported.
