Ryan Seacrest wanted to have a keyboard for his iPhone and invested USD1 million to get it. The former American Idol host had backed the development of Typo Keyboards. This was according to a report published by Las Vegas Guardian Express.

The prototype keyboard of Typo is now ready for pre-orders. The device is composed of a case and an attached keyboard. iPhone users will just have to slide their phone into the case and sync it. The keyboard for the iPhone is priced at USD99, the report detailed.

The press release for Typo stated that Seacrest was used to carrying two phones at a time, one for typing and the other one was his iPhone. One night, as he was having dinner with his friend Laurence Hallier, a discussion ensued about a carrying two different phones. The two developed the idea and the Typo was born two years later, the report explained.

At present, the Typo Keyboard is compatible for both iPhone 5 and 5S only. However, the report said the prototype keyboard has a high level of functionality. According to All Things D, the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show will include the accessory in its Las Vegas showcase. Typo is set to debut in 2014, Las Vegas Guardian Express reported.
