Slater & Gordon Ltd said it planned to have more acquisitions in the UK. The news comes after the firm announced it had almost completed its Australian targets for acquisition. This was according to a report published by Business Spectator.

Andrew Gretch, managing director of the company, confirmed to DataRoom that it still had over USD30 million for UK purchases. The firm was in the process of acquiring Pannone Ltd., which would be its fifth takeover of a legal firm in the country, the report said.

Since 2000, Slater & Gordon have made over 40 acquisitions, said Gretch. This would include four recent transactions in the UK, the report stated.

This year, the Melbourne-based law firm's shares have soared 94%. Bloomberg said this put the firm's stock on the 9th rank of the best performing shares on the S&P/ASX300 Index in 2013, Business Spectator reported.
