Coresystems received USD15.5 million from investors in a recently concluded Series A funding round, TechCrunch said in a report. Since being founded in 2002, the investment would be the first external funding Swiss mobile cloud-based field service app maker had received.

Investors who participated in the funding round were a group local, private investors and German tech investor Peter Zencke. Zencke is a former SAP executive board member and research and development head.

Coresystems said the new investment would go towards the swift development of the company's product enhancements. It also intended to increase its sales efforts and business development in response to growing demand of its mobile cloud apps and software products.

The recent investment round also saw the appointment of Torsten Svensson as Global Head of Sales. Svensson had previous working experience heading various regional and market sales and business departments for companies EMC, HP and SAP.
