Synacor acquires Android development platform Teknision

Synacor Inc. announced today that it has acquired Android development platform Teknision. This was according to a report published on the MarketWatch website. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Teknision is a company that aims to create a better user experience on different mobile device by combining design and technology. Its trademark homescreens, custom apps and launchers are presently being used by some of the most innovative corporations all over the world, said the report by MarketWatch. 

The report also described Synacor as the top provider of next-generation startpages, TV Everywhere solutions and services for cloud-based Identity Management (IDM). The company provides these services for different electronic devices worldwide.

With over 1 billion activated Android devices, Synacor is counting on the its popularity of the operating system to propel its own vision of helping clients access all kinds of media from a single homepage. Its combined effort with Teknision should be able to take that vision one step closer to its realization, according to MarketWatch.
