Next-generation information technology services and solutions leader CSC, originally called Computer Sciences Corporation, said it had agreed to purchase ServiceMesh. No financial details about the transaction were provided. The acquisition of the enterprise cloud management company would support CSC's efforts to become a next-generation IT firm. ServiceMesh is backed by venture capital firm Ignition Partners.

CSC President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Lawrie said, "ServiceMesh allows us to catalogue enterprise applications and orchestrate those applications dynamically to run in different clouds based on the characteristics of the applications. From our unique position as an independent global technology company, we will integrate those workloads for our clients through our portfolio of services and technologies."

CSC's financial advisor for the deal is RBC Capital Markets. The sale is expected to be completed in the third quarter of the company's 2014 fiscal year. CSC posted USD 13.5 billion in revenue for the year ending September 27, 2013.  The company has about 81,000 employees.
