Samsung had beaten Apple in the smart watch race. The main issue now is that the Galaxy Gear have been tepid at best.

Many analysts still foresee that Apple would be revolutionizing the technology despite Samsung's first foray into the technological space. Apple was central to the development of the smartphone and tablet revolution as its deep expertise in hardware, software, design and marketing as well as overall integration of technologies.

Now, the next frontier has been identified as the watch industry. According to Piper Jaffray a technology survey firm, about 2% to 4% of iPhone owners would be purchasing an iWatch within the first year of its introduction. This is projected to be at most 10 million iWatches sold in the first year.

While Samsung's Galaxy Gear is the first, Apple is right around the corner with its innovative genius. Even if Samsung was first in the race, the Apple may eventually win the overall trophy.
