British renegade graffiti artist Banksy had managed to capture New Yorkers with his art this month. New Yorkers are known to be jaded or bored, considering that the city is a popular melting pot of cultures.

Building manager Jose Goya, whose building was painted by Banksy, said, "Somebody offered me a million dollars if I took down the bricks."

Banksy had eluded city police and incurred New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's wrath with his spary-painted artwork across the city. His popular artworks were the Ronald McDonald statue in the Bronx Tuesday, and the "Sirens of the Lambs", which showed a livestock truck containing stuffed farm animal toys.

Banksy has long lambasted the government figure for labelling graffiti as illegal vandalism. The reclusive and anonymous artist is known mainly for his stenciled, black-and-white images, and likes to create artwork on public property such as walls and even streets. Banksy's artwork had been sold at premier auctions like Sotheby's for USD2 million upwards, and in street markets as low as USD60 per piece.
