The Abraaj Group announced its investment in African Industrial Services Group (AIS). No financial terms were disclosed about the deal. This is the first investment of Abraaj in Cote d'Ivoire.

Based in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, AIS is a company that provides solutions for engineering requirements. It helps clients identify market requirements, conceptualize component designs, manufacture products and install these after they are tested. Established in 2001, AIS now operates in eight countries in West Africa.

The investment provided by Abraaj would facilitate the expansion of AIS in West Africa. It would also enable the engineering company to upgrade its inventory management system and increase its production capacity.

AIS Chief Executive Officer Alain Mominé said, "The timing of the investment of The Abraaj Group neatly complements our planned growth strategy; we look forward to having Abraaj join our board and working closely together to position AIS as the leading, value-added, full-service engineering solutions firm in West Africa."
