Apple announced that over 200 million iOS devices had upgraded to its newly-launched iOS 7. The number of people who had switched to Apple's latest operating system made the iOS 7 as the fastest software upgrades conducted so far. According to mobile and tech news website BGR, there were only 100 million iOS users who had updated to the iOS 6 within the same time period when it was launched last year.

Apple made the announcement when it released opening weekend sales figures for its new iPhone models. The iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C sold nine million units three days after they were launched. Reuters reported that Apple shares rose by over 5% after the figures came in. It was trading at USD 493.47 early Monday.

In a regulatory filing, Apple revealed that it expected its fourth fiscal quarter revenues to be at the high range of its USD 34 billion to USD 37 billion estimates. Analysts who participated in a Thomson Reuters poll forecasted the company's total revenues to be USD 36.10 billion.
