John Felice was named the new US sales chief according to a company statement issued today. Felice would replace current US sales Chief Ken Czubay who would retire from the company effective November 1. Ford also appointed Barb Samardzich as its Chief Operating Officer in Europe. Samardzich is the current head of Ford's European product development.
According to a Bloomberg report, Ford had captured 16% of the US light vehicle delivery market through August. This showed an increased market share of 15.6% from a year earlier. Meanwhile, rival Toyota Motor Corp's share was little changed at 14.4%. The Japan based company had outsold Ford by 314 light trucks and cars last July.
