Private equity firm Bridgepoint sold Terveystalo to EQT VI. Terveystalo is a Finland-based private healthcare provider. It has more than 130 hospitals and clinics in Finland. It provides occupational health and primary healthcare services to its clients. No financial terms were disclosed about the deal. The sale is expected to be finalized in the fourth quarter of this year after passing all the regulatory clearances.

Bridgepoint acquired Terveystalo in 2009. As the healthcare provider's owner, Bridgepoint invested EUR 160 million in Terveystalo's network of clinics as well as on its services delivery and IT infrastructure. Bridgepoint also funded EUR 120 million for the Finnish healthcare firm to make strategic and bolt-on acquisitions.

The investment of Bridgepoint resulted to an increase in Terveystalo's workforce from 4,350 people to close to 6,500 employees. Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) also rose. Last year, Terveystalo's EBITDA was EUR 52.3 million. It also posted revenues of EUR 455 million for 2012.
