DAE ends discussions with StandardAero

StandardAero's owner, Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, said it had ended discussions with British aircraft servvices company BBA Aviation. The US based engine repair and maintenance business sought to merge its business with BBA Aviation.

The two firms had announced last August of discussions to merge some of the assets. This confirmed the media reports which sasid that BBA was seeking to enter a tie-up with StandardAero based out of Arizona. The said merger was projected to be worth GBP2.7 billion.

In an emailed statement, "Dubai Aerospace Enterprise announced today it is no longer in discussions with BBA Aviation about a potential combination of certain of its business."

No further details were provided in the statement issued.

BBA, in a previous statement, involved a 'potential budines combination with certain parts of DAE's business.' This was viewed as a full merger between the two firms, with DAE retaining majority stock ownership to retain a key market place in Dubai's aerospace industry.
