Sooqini raises USD500k seed funding

Today, UK task marketplace Sooqini had announced raising USD500000 in seed funding. The company also has a new website with greater emphasis on trust element of its services. The funding was led by Lars Toft Larsen and Start Capital founder Paolo Rubatto. Both Rubatto and Larsen had joined the board of directors in Sooqini.

The London based company was launched in 2011. Sooqini allows its users to purchase or sell a wide range of services. This includes translation, accounting, cleaning gardening and other general works among others. The company uses a reverse marketplace model where buyers post tasks on its website. Sooqini takes a 15% cut after a job has been completed.

There are currently 15,000 sellers offering services on Sooqini, said the startup. There had also been GBP300000 worth of jobs posted to date. The iOS app for the startup had been updated this month with an Android version pegged for October.
