Sister firms Intelligent Imaging Systems and Drivewyze have jointly announced the completion of its latest round of funding that raised USD7.5 million. The funding was led by iNovia Capital and Emergence Capital Partners.

IIS and Drivewyze is under the direction of transportation technology expert Brian Heath and has created a disruptive mobile application for the industry. The funds raised in the Series A round would be utilized for the sales and marketing expansion of the service called Drivewyze PreClear wireless weigh station. Part of the funds would also undertake new product development.

According to President and CEO of IIS and Drivewyze, "By leveraging our Commercial Mobile Radio Service (CMRS) transponder technology, we have created a game changer for the trucking industry, Fleets can access more sites and higher ROI services without the limitations of traditional roadside hardware. All you need is a web and GPS-enabled device in the cab. Our integration partnerships with the industry's top in-vehicle fleet technology providers, PeopleNet, XRS and Zonar, will give fleets instant opt-in access to our service."
