Samsung releases big-screened Mega phablet in the US

Samsung Electronics Co. released its newest product today in the United States. Combining the perks of a tablet and a phone, this new gadget was expected to beat smartphone competitors.

Samsung says that their new product offers the portability of a smartphone with the convenience of a tablet's speed and extended applications.  Also called a phablet,  Samsung's new Mega allows users to view movies, read books, listen to music and play games in one handy tool.The Samsung Mega includes many other features that are available in Samsung Galaxy phones. It has a multi-window feature that allows multitasking in split screens. It also has Easy Mode, which owners can reduce the number of features and choices of users. 

AT&T Inc., a leading mobile carrier in the United States, would begin to sell Samsung Mega later in week for USD150. Other carriers such as Sprint and US Cellular will also be offering the phablet at yet undisclosed prices and dates.

Samsung Electronics Co., with a current annual sales of USD 187.8 billion, is a world leader when it comes to technology. Samsung Electronics offers a variety of consumer products. Samsung products include smartphones, personal computers and home appliances. The Korean-owned company currently has 236,000 employees in 79 countries around the world.
