Apple Inc is currently trying to force the mobile devices of Samsung Electronics Co. out of the US market. This was after Apple successfully dodged an iPhone 4 and iPad 2 ban through a veto from the White House.

Apple would petition the US Court of Appeals tomorrow to block the sales of Samsung smartphones. A jury from California discovered that Samsung infringed the patent for the design and features of iPhone. The Cupertino, California-based corporation said stopping Samsung from selling its smartphones and tablets is more significant than money. The US$1 billion ruling Apple won at a trial in 2012 was less than 14 days' worth of iPhone sales and one-seventh of the second quarter earnings of Samsung.

"Sometimes, the money's not enough," Van Dyke Firm's technology-patent lawyer, Ray Van Dyke, said. "Between Apple and Samsung, it's about who's going to be the top dog. You want to shut them down. This is the club. You can beat them into submission with a club and maintain your top dog status."
