Parodontax Active Gum Health Mouthwash is being recalled nationwide due to labeling errors, affecting more than 84,000 bottles, federal officials confirmed.

The recall, issued by Haleon US Holdings LLC, stems from missing or incorrect lot numbers and expiration dates on the 500 mL bottles, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The affected bottles are 16.9-fluid-ounce, mint-flavored, alcohol-free mouthwash. According to Yahoo, the lot number on the bottles should read 0665363, with an expiration date of August 31, 2027.

However, some bottles may not display this information, raising concerns about proper product tracking.

The FDA classified the recall as Class III, the lowest level of risk. "A Class III recall is when the used product is not likely to cause adverse health consequences," the agency said.

While the issue violates FDA regulations, the product is not expected to harm consumers.

The recall covers bottles distributed nationwide, both in stores and online. According to Haleon, 84,764 units are affected, though the FDA has not disclosed specific retailers or online platforms involved.

Consumers are advised to check their bottles for the lot number and expiration date.

If the information is missing or incorrect, the FDA encourages customers to report the issue through Parodontax's website using the product issue or quality complaint contact form.

No further action or health risk has been reported at this time.

Haleon, FDA Coordinate Nationwide Mouthwash Recall

Haleon US Holdings LLC, headquartered in Warren, New Jersey, is coordinating the recall and has worked with the FDA to alert consumers, FoxBusiness reported.

While the recall does not pose a direct health threat, officials emphasized the importance of correct labeling to ensure consumer safety and compliance with federal regulations.

This recall highlights the importance of accurate product labeling in personal care items.

While errors like missing lot numbers or expiration dates may seem minor, they are critical for tracking products in case of contamination or other quality concerns.

The FDA continues to monitor recalls and urges companies to maintain strict labeling standards to protect public health.

Consumers who have purchased the affected Parodontax Active Gum Health Mouthwash should inspect their bottles immediately.

For any questions or to report an issue, the FDA and Parodontax encourage using the official online contact forms.

Haleon and the FDA said they are committed to resolving the matter quickly and minimizing inconvenience to customers.
