Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has sold over $736 million worth of Amazon stock, just days after celebrating his lavish wedding to Lauren Sanchez in Venice, Italy.
The sale, confirmed through a financial filing on Tuesday, involved 3.3 million shares of Amazon and was carried out as part of a trading plan Bezos adopted in March.
According to CNBC, the billionaire's plan allows him to sell up to 25 million shares through May 2026.
While this is his first stock sale of the year, Bezos has regularly sold large blocks of Amazon stock over the years. Since 2002, he's cashed out roughly $44 billion by selling Amazon stock.
He still remains the company's largest individual shareholder and continues to serve as its executive chairman after stepping down as CEO in 2021.
Bloomberg reports that Jeff Bezos is now the third-richest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of $241 billion—just behind Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.

Bezos Gifts Nearly $190M in Amazon Shares to Nonprofits in 2025
The recent sale also happened just as Bezos and Sanchez hosted a three-day wedding celebration in Venice that reportedly cost around $50 million.
The high-profile event drew celebrity guests—and even some protests from locals who were concerned about the disruptions caused by the festivities.
While many headlines focused on the glamorous wedding, the stock sale has real business ties.
Bezos has often shared that he puts some of the money from selling Amazon stock toward supporting his space company, Blue Origin.
The company recently launched a new rocket into orbit but later laid off about 10% of its staff to cut costs.
Aside from business ventures, Bezos also gives generously to charity. So far in 2025, Bezos has donated nearly 930,000 Amazon shares to various nonprofit organizations, NDTV said.
These gifts were estimated to be worth nearly $190 million, according to reports.
Bezos usually directs his donations to causes like the Bezos Earth Fund for climate action, the Day One Fund to support homeless families, and other charitable efforts.
