Zaxby's Announces Major Expansion With Over 50 New Stores Coming in 2025

Zaxby's, the popular chicken chain known for its "Chicken Fingerz" and signature sauces, is planning a big year.

The company announced it will open over 50 new restaurants across the United States in 2025, pushing it closer to a major milestone—more than 1,000 total locations.

Founded in 1990 and based in Atlanta, Georgia, Zaxby's currently operates more than 950 restaurants in 17 states.

While it has always been strong in the Southeast—with many stores in Georgia, Florida, and the Carolinas—the brand is now expanding westward.

According to a statement sent to USA Today, Zaxby's opened 16 new locations already in 2025, including its first-ever restaurant in Nevada.

Cities like Las Vegas, Charlotte, Chapel Hill, and Vincennes are already home to new stores, and another Las Vegas location is expected to open in July.

The expansion doesn't stop there. A new Zaxby's in Eustis, Florida, is opening on June 23. The 3,000-square-foot restaurant will seat 54 people and include a drive-thru. It's expected to bring up to 60 new jobs to the local area.

Zaxby's Expands to Arizona, Eyes More US States in 2025

The company is also looking ahead to a new market—Arizona. Zaxby's first Phoenix location will open in July.

After that, the chain plans to enter even more states for the first time, including Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Illinois, Ohio, and New Jersey.

"We're proud of our Southern roots," Zaxby's said in its statement, "but we're ready to serve more guests across the country."

The company emphasized that they are also continuing to open restaurants in the Southeast, including in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia.

Zaxby's made several additions in Florida in 2024 as well, with new locations in Jacksonville, Starke, and St. Augustine, PalmBeachPost said.

According to data from ScrapeHero, Florida has 120 Zaxby's locations—making it one of the top states for the brand. Jacksonville has the most, with 14 locations, followed by Atlanta with eight.

As the chain spreads to new regions, Zaxby's continues to focus on providing good food with what it calls "Southern hospitality and a modern twist." Customers can also order ahead using the Zaxby's app or website.
