Nike is delaying the launch of its much-anticipated activewear collection with Kim Kardashian's Skims brand.

Originally set for spring 2025, the collection will now be released later this year, according to a source close to the matter.

The delay is due to internal production issues, not problems with suppliers or shipping.

A person familiar with the situation said the companies want to ensure the final products meet their high standards before they are released.

"Everyone is on the same page, and the partnership remains strong," the source said.

The NikeSkims collection was first announced in February 2025. It includes activewear, footwear, and accessories designed to combine performance and style.

According to NY Post, the collaboration is part of Nike's push to boost its women's division and regain momentum after recent drops in sales. Nike's stock has fallen over 20% this year.

Nike CEO Elliott Hill has said the collection will bring "something new and unexpected" to women's fitness. Investors had hoped the first products would launch in the quarter that ended in May, but that timeline has quietly slipped.

NikeSkims Launch Delayed Again, No New Date Announced

So far, no new release date has been confirmed. The delay means fans will have to wait longer for a first look, and there's no word on whether a teaser or preview will come before the full launch.

For Skims, which was last valued at $4 billion, the deal is a big step into the activewear world, CNBC said. Known for its shapewear, Skims could expand its reach through this partnership with Nike, the world's largest athletic brand.

The project comes during a time of major change at Nike. Heidi O'Neill, a key executive who helped start the partnership, has left the company.

Meanwhile, a special team made up of Nike and Skims staff — plus new designers — is working to finalize the collection.

The delay has not dampened expectations. Nike says it is still aiming to launch globally in 2026, and both companies are focused on making sure the products are worth the wait.

With Hill leading the charge, the NikeSkims line is expected to play a big role in Nike's turnaround plans. Updates are expected when Nike reports earnings on June 26.
