Apigee raised US $35 million in another round of equity funding led by an investment fund managed by Blackrock Inc's subsidiary. Other investors such as Third Point Ventures, SAP Ventures, Accenture, Focus Ventures, Bay Partners and Norwest Venture Partners also joined the round.

The money will be used to support the company's plan to increase its global footprint, as well as fine-tuning Apigee products dedicated to mobile requirements.

Chet Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer of Apigee, explained that the company provides a service to companies and small business organizations that will allow them to control and manage digital initiatives on apps, information and mobile APIs.

"Mobile changes everything, and every business must have a comprehensive digital strategy that includes reaching customers and expanding through mobile apps," he said.

He added that although the company is already in a strong market position, the new funding will help the company "quickly expand our product portfolio and international sales and marketing."
