According to the FDA, eight individuals across four states experienced illness after consuming microdosing chocolate bars from the Diamond Shruumz brand.

Warning on 'Diamond Shruumz' Products

Arizona's poison control centers have issued a warning regarding the potential health hazards associated with the use of "Diamond Shruumz" products. 

This comes in response to a recent surge in cases reported in Arizona and other states. 

According to a press release by Banner Health, these products have resulted in seizures, unconsciousness, and other adverse effects that have necessitated hospitalization.

Diamond Shruumz offers a range of products, including chocolate bars and gummies infused with mushrooms. These products are designed for microdosing purposes and can be purchased online or in stores in Arizona.

Healthcare professionals are being encouraged by poison control centers to call and report any cases they treat in the hospital, Scottsdale reported.

Microdosing Trend Surges

Microdosing involves regularly taking a small dose of a drug, often a psychedelic, without experiencing any noticeable effects.

According to Business Insider, the microdosing industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, with companies aiming to develop approved medicines from substances such as MDMA. 

According to a report from Business Insider, there has been a significant surge in the use of psychedelics within the industry since 2020.

Based on data from Pitchbook, investments in psychedelics companies reached a total of $163.6 million in the first three quarters of 2020.

Although Diamond Shruumz promotes its products as microdoses, they do not contain any psychedelics. 

The company offers a wide range of products, including chocolate bars in six delicious flavors. According to its FAQ, its products utilize a unique combination of natural ingredients.
