Joe Biden Team Thanks Donald Trump

According to The Hill, Ammar Moussa, spokesperson for Joe Biden's campaign team, responded to Donald Trump's comments from earlier Monday. Moussa reminded Trump that Biden is the current president and he is "the one whose policies are helping achieve historic GDP growth."

"Thank you Donald for lifting up today's strong economic news, but on this planet, Joe Biden is the president, and is the one whose policies are helping achieve historic GDP growth, a stronger than ever stock market, and real job creation after Trump tanked our economy," Moussa said in a statement shared with The Hill.

Donald Trump Claims Credit For the Record-High Stock Market Under Joe Biden Administration

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Monday, Donald Trump claimed that polls showing him ahead of Joe Biden in a hypothetical rematch in November were driving the optimistic outlook on Wall Street.

"THIS IS THE TRUMP STOCK MARKET BECAUSE MY POLLS AGAINST BIDEN ARE SO GOOD THAT INVESTORS ARE PROJECTING THAT I WILL WIN, AND THAT WILL DRIVE THE MARKET UP," the former president wrote in an all-caps message on Truth Social.

White House spokesperson Andrew Bates criticized Trump's remarks and touted the strengthening of the economy under Biden in 2023. Bates further noted that the administration's efforts have also led to rebuilding infrastructure and reducing drug prices.

Bates told The Hill that while they do not comment on the 2024 election, they welcome "the wide range of ideologically diverse voices who are increasingly conceding" that Biden is "building an economy that actually delivers for hardworking families - not just billionaires or executives at multinational corporations."

Earlier this month, Trump said that he hoped the stock market would crash within the next year under Biden, but in the past week, both the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 index have reportedly set record highs.

With the 2024 election on the horizon, the heated exchanges between the two presidential candidates are expected to heighten.
