Kia has unveiled its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) future strategy at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The Korean automaker's PBV business will initially be based on introducing an all-new, modular vehicle, previewed by the Kia Concept PV5.

According to TechCrunch, Kia recently unveiled at CES 2024 a new lineup of electric vans, trucks, ride-hailing, and last-mile delivery vehicles, all set to be built on its new modular platform.

In a press conference on Monday, Pierre-Martin Bos, vice president of Kia's new so-called PVB business division, announced that its first customer was Uber after forming a global partnership with it.

The PBV Strategy of Kia

The PBV strategy, presented alongside a multi-phase plan, aims to revolutionize the mobility industry and contribute to Hyundai Motor Group's broader goals in robotics, Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), and autonomous driving.

Kia's PBVs, as a total mobility solution, integrate purpose-built electric vehicles (EVs) with advanced software solutions rooted in the Hyundai Motor Group's software-to-everything (SDx) strategy.

This approach is expected to redefine the concept of space by offering advanced, tailored interiors that promise unparalleled freedom and flexibility.
