Rumors and speculation were plentiful when it comes to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The release date was placed sometime early September. AndroidGeeks and PCAdvisor both placed the release on September 4.

There were also rumors of the Galaxy Note 3 having a flexible screen. However, Samsung burst this bubble by confirming that it would not be so. The new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will not come with a flexible screen, according to reports. Samsung was having issues with the technology behind this much-wanted display. According to its CEO, the company needed more time to develop the technology and so its release would be delayed. Instead, the phablet would be released with a 5.9-inch OLED screen.

However, the company did state in a press release, "To ensure continued momentum, Samsung will concentrate on offering differentiated smartphone displays through technological competitiveness, including flexible display technology, and focus on enhancing cost competitiveness."

Samsung is a South Korean electronics company. In its second quarter audited report, net profit was KRW7.77 trillion (US$6.96 billion). Forbes reported that Visiongain estimates were pegged at US$46 billion revenues this year. The report went on further to say that Samsung's phablet will "consitute a significant portion of global smartphone shipments by 2018".
